چکیده
A 25-year-old man had several episodes of low back pain over a 3-year period. The initial episodes were described as simple backaches, unassociated with radicular pain, and were relieved by bed rest and aspirin . One year later, the patient sought chiropractic therapy on two occasions for recurrent backache. He failed to obtain relief and, while under treatment, began to experience radiating pain to the left buttock and posterior aspect of the left thigh . These pains were exacerbated by walking , coughing , and straining. They were relieved by lying down with the back in flexion and by squatting. Physical examination on admission revealed weakness of the extensor hallucis longus and softness of the calf musculature on the left. Straight leg raising , sitting straight leg, bowstring signs, and Deyerle sign were all positive on the left. His range of motion showed decreased flexion, and he had listing to the left which increased on forward bend. An L4L5 herniated disk was suspected clinically and confirmed by CT (figs . 1 A and 18). The patient was managed conservatively , and in 7 weeks he was virtually asymptomatic except for mild backache, primarily on the right side. A CT scan obtained after conservative therapy revealed dramatic reduction of the disk herniation (figs. 1 C and 1 D).

Spontaneous regression of herniated nucleus pulposus.
Spontaneous regression of herniated nucleus pulposus has not been previously documented. Reported here are 11 patients in whom there was unequivocal regression or disappearance of a herniated lumbar disk on follow-up CT study. Two patients with herniated disks were without symptoms. In the nine patients with symptoms, those attributed to the original herniation disappeared or were diminished in...

We present the case of a 60-year-old man with metastatic neuroendocrine tumor of the ileum following ileal resection, being evaluated for 177Lu-based peptide receptor radionuclide therapy. 68Ga-DOTANOC PET/CT showed focal increased tracer uptake in the scrotal region without any morphologic changes on the corresponding CT images. Similar increased tracer uptake was seen on...
متن کاملP-190: Regression of Endometrial Hyperplasia after Treatment with Drug and Conservative Treatment in Early Abortion: A Case Series Study
Background: The aim of the conservative treatment is the regression of the hyperplastic to normal endometrium. Conservative treatment of endometrial hyperplasia is based on the administration of agents with either antioestrogenic action or direct anti-proliferative effect on the endometrium. Progestagens have been used widely in the treatment of endometrial hyperplasias. Materials and Methods: ...
متن کاملPneumocephalus after Tympanomastoidectomy: A Case Presentation
Introduction: Pneumocephalus is the presence of air or gas within the cranial cavity. It can occur following otorhinolaryngological procedures. A small pneumocephalus spontaneously heals without any treatment. In severe cases, conservative therapy includes a 30-degree head elevation, avoidance of the Valsalva maneuver, analgesics, osmotic diuretics, and oxygen therapy. Case Report: A 56-year-...
متن کاملCT demonstration of optic canal fractures.
Traumatic blindness is a well recognized entity with a guarded prognosis. Previous studies have variously reported the incidence of concomitant optic canal fractures and response to surgical therapy. With the advent of CT scanning, a new technique for study of these severely injured patients has become available. Over a period of 20 months, optic foramen fractures were demonstrated in 10 such p...
